Brand New Fender Custom Shop 1950 Double Esquire Heavy Relic Aged Nocaster Blonde 6 lbs 13 oz
A dual-pickup spin on the classic single-pickup Esquire, the Fender Custom Shop 1950 Double Esquire Heavy Relic harkens back to the earliest days of Leo Fender’s solidbody experimentation — with a few modern, performance-minded upgrades! A 2-piece select off-center seam ash body starts everything off with a clear, biting top end and a barking midrange response. That body wood is the perfect tonal foundation for this guitar’s Custom Shop hand-wound ’50–’51 Blackguard single-coil pickups, which provide you with a startlingly accurate re-creation of early Tele-style twangy tonalities. On the opposite end, you get a 1-piece maple neck in a seriously chunky 1950-style “Blackguard” profile, while the fingerboard takes a leap into the world of modern playability with 21 medium vintage frets in a compound 7.5–9.5-inch radius. Lastly, the Fender Custom Shop’s relicing maestros graced this guitar with a nitrocellulose Heavy Relic finish for a true touch of played-in authenticity.
