1987 Fender Japanese Stratocaster Vintage White Yngwie Malmsteen Toured, Played, & Signed
The saying "you don't see this every day" certainly applies to this: a made-in-Japan 1987 Fender Stratocaster that was owned, toured, played, and signed by Yngwie Malmsteen. This example was used during his time touring with his band 'Rising Force' as they were promoting their record 'Odyssey." The previous owner acquired this from Yngwie by trading him some of his personal gear that Yngwie had taken a liking to; the previous owner had this opportunity to do so as he was in a band that had opened up for Rising Force a few times on Long Island in the late 80s.
One of the more exciting things about this guitar is that it was made before Fender had released the first USA run of artist signature Malmsteen guitars, and many years before they released any in Japan. It is presented here with many of the features that made his yet-to-be-released artist signature a perennial classic; two YJMDP217 single coil pickups in the neck and bridge (with a middle pickup that looks to be an unmarked DiMarzio), scalloped fretboard, a brass nut, and an installed DiMarzio clip-lock strap system. The guitar is signed by Yngwie on the upper bout of the instrument with his classic "play loud" exclamation, as found on many instruments signed by him.
The guitar comes with the case Ynqwie was using at the time with Rising Force, tremolo arm, Yngwie signature picks, a nail file that he left in the case, and DiMarzio strap. It also has a picture commemorating the day and location the trade took place, with the date written on the back of the picture.
